In conjunction with the 6th grade science curriculum, students embarked on making pictures of the solar system. We had a lengthy discussion about making artwork the scientific way vs. an artistic way. Should the pictures be true to what they had learned in science class, specifically the exact size and location of the planets in our galaxy or could they use elements of truth in their pictures and create a sci-fi fantasy.
As you can see, most chose the artistic version and the results are truly from another world!
